Winter Fun

a kitchen cupboard hide out

Wyatt has been letting Merit and Willem practice a bit on his snow board.
It is so fun to watch!
These three boys are loving the snow! They have made igloos, jumps for the sled and
snowboard and have just had a ball!

Wyatt

Wyatt, you rock!

Willem

love this snowy trail

Just before nap time... cozied up in mama's arms with the binkie.
Hazel is fighting naps less lately. The cold crisp air and hiking around a bit
in her boots makes for one tired girl.

My brother Matt went on a motorcylce trip to Mexico with Vance's dad and
several others. He also enjoyed some time in Coronado with Natasha's family.
On the way down and on the way back we got some time with him.
Willem was thrilled to have Matt around to build his train set!
Matt picked Merit up from basketball practice Monday night, which Merit considered
a real treat.

I want to get in my craftroom and make a couple cards sometime soon.
I have the card making bug.

The snow is so pretty, but not so fun to drive in. I know my husband being in the trucking business has lots of extra work "stuff" this time of year. I appreciate him coming home smiling even when he is exhausted. Makes it hard for all of those trying to keep things running smoothly when the weather isn't cooperating.  It would be a hard time of year to be a truck driver with icy roads, cold temps and mountain pass closures.  A shout out to Mike for all of his hard work and dedication!! Deb, I hope you are reading my blog today, :)

Today everything is melting, the sun is shining... it looks really pretty.

Grateful

The kids are enjoying this snow! I love to see how helpful Merit and Willem are with Hazel when she goes out to join them just for a bit!

Merit goes down the hill on his feet on this sled.
Wyatt, Willem and Merit made a little jump too.
They catch air and have fun!
Wyatt let Merit and Willem try out his
snowboard today and they were pretty good on it!

When Hazel's gloves are missing, mama's gloves will do.

The ingredients for hot cocoa are a MUST on these snow days!!

Hazel loves these puppies.
Fur Real puppies are soo cute and realistic.
Willem and Hazel have spent many hours playing with them.

We miss Rudy our lab a lot. What great companions dogs can be.
She was a loyal companion and a good friend. I am thankful she
lived a long life.

I am so grateful. Willem had a great birthday and a fun party!
I am crazy about his friends. He has so many kind, polite kids in his life.

The snow is here...

Willem at work

Hazel can only walk on the sidewalk, otherwise the snow is over her little boots.

Willem is a hard worker and likes to please.
He was excited for me to see all he had accomplished.
This guy's birthday is tomorrow! 6 years old! I can
hardly believe it.

Wyatt, Merit and Willem did some sledding yesterday.

Then they came in for a few games of Guess Who, Wii fun and some hot cocoa.

I got to visit with some wonderful girlfriends this morning.
That always feels refreshing.
I will be back tomorrow with a birthday post for Willem!

Enjoying life...

Pottery Barn Cubbies.... oh, I love it

This room is so inviting!
I picture it upstairs in a country home, one with a big covered front porch.

This is a favorite treat of Willem's!

A Wednesday update

The weather today is gorgeous! I went outdoors with the second-grade class I was teaching today. We looked for a ring a student had lost (an...
