Kinder fun, football, a cold Saturday!

It's been a wild week!

But now a cold, windy Saturday is here! The kids are hanging out and playing. Vance made breakfast, we drank our coffee and creamer, now it is college football and hot apple cider, mounds of laundry and lots of play -

I subbed kinder the last two days and it was JUST what I needed.

I have a senior photo shoot scheduled for tomorrow. It is 48 degrees and windy! I hope tomorrow warms up -

Wild Will
He is doing great! At school, at football, being a brother, being a kind, goofy kid!

Weekend Happenings

Orphaned kitten
The boys found him on a bike ride, sort of in the middle of nothing.
Tasha found him a home and took him to Lynden last night!
There are so many kittens that need homes.

Our one room cabin offers a WONDERFUL place for visiting and crafting. I have invited friends to craft down here with me and this weekend I decided to set up the space for a water color craft for the cousins.

 sparkling cider, candy, water colors...

The adults went to dinner Saturday night (delicious and fun) and then found ourselves at Sporty's! We did a little dancing there!

Lane, Willem, and Merit had all sorts of fun! They shopped Goodwill. They helped some people they did not know set up for a yard sale. And they went out for Fro Yo - TWICE!

Cheers to a productive, fun Thursday!

This shop is dream land in the fall and winter.
I love it.

I am so proud of this boy. All day kinder is long.

Before 8 a.m. this morning, a hanging plant fell in the bathroom. There was potting soil everywhere! Behind the claw foot tub, behind and along side of the toilet, in every tile crack. I then spilled my cup of coffee. I refilled it and forget where I put it. Oren cried before kinder. He hugged me tightly walking in.
I sent Willem with money for P.E. clothes - he just changed classes, long story, good ending.
Then this morning I found his P.E. clothes from last year.
I have to go refill my coffee cup, have a short chat with my chickens, and say a couple of prayers.

I am not going to sweat the small stuff because I know, this is small stuff.

Cheers to a productive Thursday!

I'll refresh tired bodies; I'll restore tired souls.

Thankful!

Do you ever wake up and anticipate being spoken to in a rude way?

Do you ever wake up and make the promise that you won't be rude to someone, well to anyone.
I do.

Have I stuck my foot in my mouth? Yes
Have I asked dumb questions? Yes
Have I made assumptions? Yes

But my goal is to be an ENCOURAGER and to BUILD UP rather than tear down.

***********************************

I do not think Merit and Willem have fought in 6 months. (It's a God thing)
They celebrate each other's accomplishments.
They are sad when the other is discouraged.
They laugh so much. The sound is MUSIC to my ears!!

Ten things I am thankful for;
My kids relationships with each other.
My desire to express kindness.
My dad.
Children and their learning!

oh that is more than ten, and that my friends, is a good thing

More from our time in Lynden and Ferndale

Hovander Park, Ferndale, WA
Oren and Uncle Matt, buddies

Oren and Ingrid LOVE to explore

The beauty at Hovander Park and the Fragrance Gardens!

Estelle being silly

This picture evokes many emotions.
I went to Ebenezer Christian School K- 8th grade. My memories there, my friendships, and the way my faith grew shaped who I am today. It was and is a small Christian school. The families we knew were amazing. The education top notch.
I watched my niece Ingrid get on the Ebenezer bus and my heart swelled. I am so glad she is getting this experience!!
The other options for her were full time kinder. She is a young five. She has only been five since July. A three day kindergarten option seemed really perfect for this girl. The fact that she can do it at Ebenezer, even more wonderful.
And the memories that flooded me that morning!! So fun.
I miss my brothers and sisters very much. More today than maybe ever before.
What a fun weekend.
And now, being back "home" in Moses Lake feels good, like it always does! I LOVE our community here. It is very different from growing up in Lynden, but it is a good fit for us.
