Sale

I am preparing for a sale here. I gave up on trying to find a Saturday that was open.
So, we are doing a Wednesday with hopes to also be open Tuesday evening, the night before.

I LOVE thrifting. I love re-purposing. I hope to paint a few pieces this week. There will be children's books too. - I have two or three friends contributing to the sale. It will be a fun variety.

Over the next week I will post a dozen pictures or so of what will be for sale.

Kitten love and life mid September

Well, these kittens are beyond adorable! I love everything about them except for their litter box. Hazel is a kitten lover! And Oren is so sweet with them too.

Oren and his buddy Nathaniel. I love several things about this picture.

We are soaking up kitten snuggles and kitten love.
We are grabbing herbs, tomatoes, squash and zucchini, kale, and soon pumpkins from a sort of weedy garden.
Vance made cheese steak sandwiches tonight, yum!
Willem plays baseball in Spokane on Sundays so a couple of us or all of us will be headed to watch those double headers most Sundays.
He had his first football game of the season this morning! A win!
Hazel and I enjoyed girl time while Willem went to a birthday party this afternoon. Our conversations were fun.
Oren drove pretend motorcycles, cars and boats most of the day.

Garden goodness, these 4 I adore!

The school year is off to a great start,
I am thankful.
Our evenings are really busy. Merit has football practice with games starting on the 21st and Willem has football and baseball practice!
Hazel loves to come home and play and Oren LOVES the evenings with her!!

Oh my gosh! Our garden produce has been so much fun!! Last year my herbs did better in pots as opposed to in the ground. This year they are doing better in the ground. I make goulash and can use peppers and tomatoes from the garden! Often I have a fresh egg, fried, for lunch with tomatoes!
I talked to my sis in law Cary yesterday. Fun to catch up. She told me now that she has two children at home (both her older girls are in college!) Laundry is so much less, simpler. Meal prepping and planning more simple. I like that she can give a positive twist on what has to be an adjustment. She misses her college girls a lot. But is enjoying her younger two! And more manageable days.

The Company Picnic!

Our summer was full of fun! It is hard to go back and re-cap. One post should be dedicated to the company picnic in Lynden, WA. It feels good to go "home" and the fun the kids have is truly a highlight.

Watching Willem and Lucy work together at the balloon stomp really had me smiling. They were certainly trying to "team up" and be sly about it. Wow, if these two lived in the same state I can't imagine all the fun they would have. They pick up where they left off and they are a hoot.

Quite possibly Hazel's FAVORITE thing to do! Go horse back riding!!

Being able to make that day trip on a B-23 World War II Bomber, pretty awesome

Autumn is almost here...

Looking forward to Autumn. But also dreaming of Autumns that have passed.

This darling girl! Now a first grader and enjoying school.

There is just something about Autumn light.

Summer sweetness

I feel myself holding onto warm summer nights. To my kids, no doubt. We still haven't purchased school supplies because I am putting it off. Summer flew by! Too fast. But it was good and sweet and memorable and FUN. I am very thankful.

Natasha and I like to dream about business ventures. I got to see her and her family this week! At our home! It was less than a 24 hour visit, but it was good. We visited, connected, thrifted. We visited the Shops on Alder (an old house with tiny rooms, second hand merchandise and antiques). We dreamed about something like that. Natasha and Reese have also dreamed about a Christmas tree farm. Many of our conversations were light hearted although many of our conversations in the past year have not been. They have had a tough year. They have both been through a lot. I think through prayer and looking to God for healing and guidance really great things can happen. I saw some of that.

Then we got to see Lesha, Rob and family and Matt and Brenda. The cousin fun was great. And they all beg for a little more time, dessert or candy and maybe a sleepover. Lesha tells me funny stories about work and we giggle about stuff. It was good. Lesha loves the thrifting too and upcycling. She has had a successful etsy store and has had fun with that.

When we can enjoy the day to day stuff, watching the kids grow, feeling thankful for our mom and her example... When we can dream and laugh, it's good.

Chilly days, good days

7 degrees, 14 degrees ..... Gosh these days are chilly but the sunshine is glorious! Each day little ice crystals for on the Russian Olives...
