A quick catch up

One of Hazel's best friends is named Case. Every time I hear her talk about him I get this happy, sad feeling. Hazel's closest cousin in age has heaven for his home and I know if he were here they would be having a ball. His name is Case. It is comforting that she has a sweet friend named Case. They sit together at school.  He even colored some Christmas clip art for her. On the back he wrote To: Hazel   Love: Case. I said "wow... love..." She said "yes, I don't think he knew how to spell from." Out of the mouths of babes.


The last two days the kids started school two hours late. Oh how I loved these slow mornings. Feels so good!

It is COLD! So cold! We have a heated, comfy shop but our dog would rather sleep in the garage. It is hard to teach a dog new tricks habits.

Baseball conditioning has started for Will and a little AAU basketball has started for Merit. Things finally slow down about 9 p.m. at night.

Vance treated Oren and I to lunch at Sumo today. It is one of our favorites! Oren is getting so much easier to shop with (although he likes to beg for toys) and eat out with. 3 1/2 is a good age.

I love January. I love the cold. I love a good book. I just finished another Mary Higgins Clark. May dive into another one of those. But have a Jan Karon, totally different, that is calling my name.

Time for bed! Tomorrow is Friday already!
