There is a third grade cabbage growing contest! Each third grader in our district and beyond, were given two cabbage "starts" - Hazel's is looking good.

Teamwork, summer days

Whew.
These days are FULL! A quiet hour or two before anyone wakes up in the morning is a chunk of respite, coffee in hand, a short walk through the garden, and a load of laundry going - the day starts beautifully.

Vance is in Seattle for meetings. He does not love the mess that comes with painting projects, so yesterday Hazel, Oren, Willem, and I painted our main bathroom. Merit made food and did laundry.

Merit and Willem had buddies over to float the creek the other night.  A float in 95 degree weather is a great way to cool off.

Willem plays in Tri Cities this weekend, Merit in Wenatchee - in fact Merit heads out mid day today - getting a ride with a buddy's dad.
It takes a village and man do we ever have a great one.

Baseball Days

I LOVE it when Willem plays first!

 Merit didn't play much this particular game, but his hunt for foul balls was very exciting.
He encountered a lama who chose not to spit on him. A ram went after him just before hopping the fence to get back to the dug out.
This "petting zoo" is right up my alley!

 Ephrata had their Sage and Sun Festival this weekend. I people watched, browsed, and took pics between a couple of games.

THIS is THE BEST.
I LOVE watching baseball. I love these boys' attitudes and hard work!

Hazel's allergies have been causing her headaches, watery eyes and sneezing! Oh this girl is a trooper! 

We have 10 plus baseball games this weekend between Merit and Willem!
