HOPE

Little head tilt with a sweet greeting! I think these ducks are loving life!!

When we can't see a way

We must choose to BELIEVE God will make a WAY
or despair will rob us of our HOPE.
Hebrews 6:19

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.

Tuesday, August 10th

Look at these cuties!

Their good moods, silliness, and laughter are contagious!!

Our ducks are loving life! They eat the trout food along with the trout!

God is love.

My soul shall be joyful in my God...

Desert Beauty

You'll here me singing about desert beauty when it is 85 degrees as opposed to 110!
You'll hear me singing about dessert beauty after a 2 hour Sunday rain.

God gives us beauty in the rainforest, in the desert, in the mountains and on the flat ground...

a little bit Restless

 a little bit Restless

My family home became a different place over the last several years. As I type that, the message is absurd. Of course it did. My mom is not there.

I just had these moments - recently - of that feeling a bit more heavy than it had for some time.

I have had many things feel sort of heavy this summer.

Back to H Street Road...

When Merit and Willem were small and even when Hazel was a babe, I would stay at my dad's occasionally.

My mind would go, go, go

The house sort of became alive with memories of my mom at 3 a.m.                   Minds are funny like that.

Then, we didn't stay there for a while and my dad hasn't hosted Christmas Eve in the shop the last two years because it is a place of work and clearing everything out for a four hour dinner and party is A LOT of work! Most of that work being put on my dad and Phillip. The kids miss it because it is what we did for 8 or 9 years. Tasha and Reese have been gracious enough to host (so wonderful) and it is fun and inviting! (easier too) but my kids stopped having memories at my dads. Oren clearly not remembering time spent there. My goal for August; running in that back 40! Checking out the creek there! Exploration with Uncle Phil - blackberry picking too!

Time changes and families change and things change and there has been a little more sadness in that  - summer of 2021 - than goodness.

I have been looking for dining tables and couches for Merit on Buy, Sell, Trade. (His mattress we will buy new. ;-) For his apartment in Walla Walla. That stings too. Yet, this kid will do great things.

His course schedule looks good. And he will be playing baseball for Walla Walla CC. A dream come true.

Pray with me for Tasha and for her heart.

If you have a home filled with memories and memories are still made there, well it is a sweet gift - something precious.

Heading down to Crab Creek where my mind is less restless. And the smoke HAS FINALLY cleared! Blue skies and 80s, just perfect!

And as we press forward we pray for God's guidance.

Blessings seem to pop up when we least expect them and there is always joy in the journey.

Summer lovin'

Summer beauty at Marilyn's! I love her blooms!

The smoke is wearing on us here...

Praying for rain - and less fires - so many affected

I hope August goes by slowly. We have a lot more summer and time with Merit to enjoy.

Place Cards

Two Thanksgivings before my passed away, my dad, mom, and brothers (Matt and Phil) came and visited us in Moses Lake.

I decided to make place cards out of cardstock.

They were cute with little leaves and my family members names in cute font...

I kept those place cards in a little drawer. I found them after she died. I cried.

I found these place card holders thrifting the other day. I plan to sell them at the Favored Farmhouse, but first I had to put my sisters names in them! I actually have four. It reminded me of the place cards from 20 + years ago.

It reminded me of the sweetness of meals, memories, and time with family.

Tuesday -

My dear friend Marilyn's blooms!

And our loft begins to take shape. The butcher block countertop in the kitchen really suits the space.

July and Family

Store fun!
I love setting up little stores and doing treasure hunts. I think the store was a hit.

Tasha left the girls with me Sunday and headed on to Spokane with Lane for STATE BASEBALL!

We had a real scare here when Ingrid badly chipped her two front teeth on our concrete! I called Tasha - she was in Spokane with Lane. Thankfully Hazel and Oren's pediatric dentist got her in RIGHT AWAY. They did x-rays, the nerves were not exposed.

Accidents like that are just hard.

Two dentists: Dr Craig Harder and Dr Nathan Lukes welcomed her in Thursday to Harder's office and Uncle Nate fixed Ingrid's teeth. So kind of them both!  Pray with me for no nerve damage and no root canals.

Estelle and Ingrid were with us a good share of the week.

Tasha's energy is low and she retains some fluid while being in the car for long periods - helps if she can have a driver so she can put her feet up and move around more.  She looks good and her spirits are good. Thank you for praying for her! Please continue to! She has several heart appts on August 10th.

This road is certainly hard. There is hope too.

Vance's brother John and Aunt Katie hosted a lot of pool and boating fun which was very cool! Awesome meals too -

Our shop project has been hard. A couple of recent quotes on prices had us canceling orders. We are shopping today and tomorrow for easier, simpler, more affordable

This band is pretty cool! Just missing cousin Kai. The C's get creative, write their music, and have fun performing. That was a highlight. Lane's team (Lynden Lightning) took second in state. They lost that last game by just 1 run.

Our nieces and nephews are so nice to be around.

After several days of "play" it is time to get back to work and back to appointments.

Chilly days, good days

7 degrees, 14 degrees ..... Gosh these days are chilly but the sunshine is glorious! Each day little ice crystals for on the Russian Olives...
